Lexus RZ Import to Ireland

We quote the standard 10% customs duty. A lower rate can apply where documents proving the car's Japanese origin are available for that particular car, which is rare for cars bought at auction.

Customs duty is 10% of the CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) value — the price of the car plus shipping. VAT is 23% of that value plus the duty.

By RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) ship from Japan to Dublin or Cork, sailing once a month with Höegh Autoliners.

Every listing carries photographs, the Carbarn inspection comments, the full inspection report, and the auction grade, so the condition can be verified before you commit.

Shipping from Japan to Dublin or Cork takes 28-45 days, depending on the sailing and the ship's schedule.

Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT) is paid when you register the car in Ireland: 7% to 41% of the Open Market Selling Price, based on carbon-dioxide (CO₂) emissions, plus a NOx charge. We use each car's official Japanese CO₂ and NOx figures and Revenue's own valuation where Revenue lists the model; otherwise the VRT is marked indicative, and Revenue confirms the final amount at registration.

You can import a car or van of any age into Ireland. There is no upper age limit and no minimum age. Vehicle Registration Tax is based on the car's carbon-dioxide (CO₂) emissions, not on its age.

Carbarn accepts Bank Transfer and Credit / Debit Card. Payment details are issued only on an official Carbarn proforma invoice after your quote is confirmed.
